Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide:
Zerg vs. Zerg Spine Crawler Rush

When using this strategy you may need to be a bit lucky. And it will probably only work in the lower leagues. This Starcraft 2 strategy is also aimed purely at Zerg versus Zerg matches, because you’ll be needing creep to execute it.

Your goal will be to spoil your opponents creep to spawn a Spine Crawler on, after which you’ll support it with the help of Zerglings.

In case you get spotted early on you need to cancel the Spine Crawler and retreat.
If on the other hand you manage to get it out before he sees you, but decides to attack you with full force, make sure to have supporting Zerglings ready.

Here is the build order:

1. Send all Drones to mine minerals and train another one.

2. Keep doing this until you reach 8/10, at which you will be putting down your Spawning Pool.

3. The next step may take a bit of practice to get the timing right, but depending on the size of the map, you should begin to move your Drone towards your opponents base.

4. Once the Spawning Pool is ready you need to place your Spine Crawler. Make sure that you stay as far to the edge of the creep as you possibly can to avoid detection. Train three Zergling eggs and use them to support the Spine Crawler.

5. Don’t forget to keep multitasking. You should train an Overlord and then some more Zerglings at your base.

6. If everything went smoothly so far, you should be able to win the game at this point. A well placed Crawler can destroy your enemy’s Hatchery in no time, use your Zerglings to block your opponents Drones and Zerglings when they come to kill you.

Keep up the pressure and hopefully you will be able to take him down.
