Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide:
Terran 1/1/1 build
This is a Starcraft 2 strategy guide for the Terran race aimed first and foremost to be used against Protoss, and from time to time Zerg as well.
You start out by adding some Barracks, Factories, and Starport. This enables you to get a variety of different units that can counter many enemy builds. The negative side to this strategy is that you are quite vulnerable against an early push. This is so because you are busy building Technology instead of an army.
Here is the build order that you would be using for this kind of Terran strategy:
1. You will start out by sending SCVs to minerals. After that you are going to put down a Supply Depot at 10 cap as the first part of your defense wall.
2. Use your Supply builder SCV as an enemy scout, and at the same time making more SCVs. At 12 cap you will be putting in your first Barracks.
3. When you reach 15 cap as well as 16 cap you are going to get a Gas. You will need to send three SCVs to mine them.
4. Once you reach 17 cap you are going to get yourself another Supply Depot. Doing so will add another brick to your defensive wall together with your already built Depot and Barracks. Once this is done it’s time to train your first Marine.
5. When at 19 cap it’s time to get the upgrade for Orbital Command. Do this, and train your second Marine.
6. Build yourself a Factory when you reach 20 cap.
7. After that you should build a Starport.
8. You can swap the Barracks with the Factory and produce Hellions. If done well, this can delay your enemies push quite effectively.
9. Swap the Factory and the Barracks and get a Tech Lab for the Factory to swap with the Starport.
10. Start to train a Raven and after that get yourself a Command Center.
11. Now you need to get some more production facilities. You should aim for either Factories or Barracks. Which one you choose will depend mainly on your enemy’s game play.
By now you ought to have a lot of marines at your disposal. It’s possible to switch to a Tank heavy build at this point if you so wish. But as I said above, where you go from here will depend entirely on your enemy’s build.
